How it Works
Praya Trust is a dedicated non-profit charitable organization committed to the empowerment and betterment of women and girl students, particularly those in rural communities. Established in 2017 and headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the trust operates with a vision to provide essential resources, financial assistance, and motivational support to help women excel during their early careers and academic journeys.
The organization focuses on a multifaceted approach to social welfare, with a strong emphasis on School Academic Assistance. Recognizing that education is the primary tool for rural girl students to compete in a digital world, Praya Trust provides monthly grants and awards to bright, hardworking students in classes X, XI, and XII. By supporting girls in government-managed schools and Panchayat Union institutions, the trust helps alleviate the financial burden on economically underprivileged families, allowing students to pursue their academic interests with confidence.
In addition to academic support, Praya Trust is a staunch advocate for preserving cultural heritage through Games and Arts. The trust actively identifies and encourages talent among rural girls under the age of 15 who participate in traditional local sports and arts. By providing monthly assistance to these young athletes and artists, Praya ensures that indigenous games and traditional knowledge are successfully transferred to the next generation, fostering a sense of pride and community health.
